    ProPublica reports that Justice Department leaders in Washington quashed, over the Minnesota prosecutor's objections, a charge of deprivation of rights under color of law against Castro, allowing only false-statement counts. AUSA Matthew Evans wrote to the victims' lawyers: 'This is being directed by the Main Justice and the US Attorney. I objected in the strongest possible terms and fought it as hard as I could.'
