In an unsigned order with no noted dissents, the Court held that the district court's order properly required the government to 'facilitate' Abrego Garcia's return. In a statement joined by Justices Kagan and Jackson, Justice Sotomayor wrote that the government's argument implied it 'could deport and incarcerate any person, including U. S. citizens, without legal consequence.'

Supreme Court requires government to facilitate return
