Day 79

April 8, 2025

3 incidents

  1. Major Abuse of Power Corruption & Self-Dealing

SSA falsely lists 6,000+ living immigrants as deceased

The Social Security Administration falsely lists more than 6,000 living immigrants as deceased in its records, effectively cutting off their benefits and legal status. The errors are linked to data-matching operations conducted during the period of DOGE access to SSA systems.

  2. Major Abuse of Power Federal Dismantlement

Supreme Court sides with administration on probationary firings

The Supreme Court stays the Northern California district court injunction that had required reinstatement of 16,000 probationary employees, holding that the nonprofit plaintiffs' allegations were insufficient to support standing; it did not rule on the legality of the firings. The next day, an appeals court rules similarly in the Maryland case, effectively allowing the administration to proceed with the firings.

  3. Major Abuse of Power Press Freedom

    Preliminary injunction for the AP

Judge Trevor McFadden rules the White House must lift its access restrictions on the AP while the lawsuit proceeds.
