In Trump v. Barbara (No. 25-365) the Supreme Court held EO 14160 invalid, 6-3. Chief Justice Roberts, writing for five justices, held that the Fourteenth Amendment guarantees birthright citizenship to nearly everyone born on U.S. soil; Justice Kavanaugh concurred on statutory grounds. Justices Thomas, Alito and Gorsuch dissented.
