DOJ Charges 15 Anti-ICE Protesters with Felony Conspiracy in Minneapolis
On June 16-17, 2026, the U.S. Attorney for Minnesota announced felony conspiracy, assault-on-a-federal-officer, interstate stalking, solicitation-of-violence, and destruction-of-government-property charges against 15 people linked to 'Direct Action Minnesota,' tied to protests against Operation Metro Surge. Defense attorneys call the felony charges prosecutorial overreach, noting roughly half of similar prior cases nationally have been dismissed. Two days later, Human Rights Watch published a report concluding the operation the defendants were protesting had itself involved unlawful killings, unlawful detentions, and racial profiling.

UN Mission asks the US for information
The Fact-Finding Mission asks the US government for information on the Lamerd strike and, on 24 June, for meetings with US officials. No reply had been received when the report was finalised (A/HRC/63/61, para 115).

UN fact-finding mission asks the US for information
The UN Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Iran writes to the US government requesting information on the Minab strike, and on June 24 asks to meet the CENTCOM commander and the Pentagon's Civilian Protection Center of Excellence. The mission reports that it received no response before finalising its report.
