The Pentagon inspector general's report finds that Hegseth put US troops at risk by sharing the quantity and strike times of manned US aircraft over hostile territory two to four hours before the strikes, on his personal phone, in violation of Pentagon rules on handling sensitive information. It finds he had the authority to declassify the material.
