Federal judge strikes down asylum ban
U.S. District Judge Randolph D. Moss ruled in a 128-page decision that the proclamation and implementing guidance could not be used to remove people without the INA's removal procedures and asylum protections, finding that 'The President cannot adopt an alternative immigration system, which supplants the statutes that Congress has enacted.' The ruling was set to take effect in two weeks.
